#1 Accidents with Corgi’s

I bet you are all wondering what possible accident could my puppy get into while I’m not looking? Well, a big one. Here is what happened to Arty and why we bought this item that pretty much gave us all peace of mind.

It was a Saturday morning, I had to work so Arty’s dad watched him. He places Arty on the bed and looks at what shirt to put on. Before he knew it, he heard a “thud” and Arty was on the floor yelping and crying. He picked Arty up and made sure he was okay, of course he wasn’t. Arty was limping. Dad rushed Arty to the vet and gets X-rays done. Turns out he sprained his leg. Arty is not allowed to walk for the next few weeks.

I of course was furious with dad because 1.) that would have never happened to me, and 2.) that would have never happened to me (haha). But, it happened and there was no point in being upset.

Something every Corgi lover should know is, Corgis have really stumpy legs. And unfortunately for Arty, he is one of the stumpiest Corgis I have ever seen. So the bed was a pretty high jump for him. And for those that don’t know, Corgi’s bones are already bent in a way that cause them to have back problems when they are older. So jumping from high places can be harmful to them.

In the end, dad spent about $300 on X-rays, examination fees, and medicine. So please, do not put your Corgi on your bed unless you are constantly watching them or have this.

These dog stairs cost me $60 on amazon. I have them on the edge of the bed and Arty uses them everyday. At first he was scared to get on them but I lured him with treats and he eventually got up on his own.

If your the type of pawrent doesn’t like having your dog on your bed then I wouldn’t make the purchase. But if you know your dog likes going on the bed and you’re okay with it, then I would definitely recommend these stairs.

I hope this post was helpful and I hope your pup doesn’t jump off the bed! šŸ™‚
